Open to select opportunities in Forward Deployed Engineering and AI leadership

Jason Van Vuren

Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

I help organizations turn ambiguous AI opportunities into practical workflows, automations and agentic workflows. My strength is understanding how people actually work, identifying the real problem behind an initial request, and rapidly building a solution that users can evaluate. With more than 30 years of development experience and deep frontend, design-system, and AI workflow expertise. I use AI-native software development to move from idea to working solution quickly.

Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE)

08/2026 — Present
  • →Work with AI domain champions to turn business opportunities into practical AI workflows, automations, agents, and prototypes.
  • →Study how teams actually work, clarify the underlying problem, and determine whether AI, traditional automation, or normal software is the right fit.
  • →Build prototypes and MVPs quickly, then determine whether a solution should remain FDE-owned or move to an engineering team for enterprise deployment.

Deluxe

Senior System Design Engineer — Unify Design System Lead

10/2019 — 08/2026
  • →Co-created Deluxe's Unify design system with a UX partner and built the React component library from the ground up.

Autonomous Agent Projects

Autonomous systems built to eliminate the routine mechanics of software development.

Autonomous SDLC Agent

ADWS (Automated Developer Workflow System)

Active Project

ADWS is an autonomous software development lifecycle agent that eliminates repetitive mechanics from engineering work. It handles the complete lifecycle from Jira issue ingestion to PR creation—allowing developers to focus on high-level architecture while the agent manages the implementation-test-fix loops.

1. Plan & Classify

Autonomously analyzes incoming requirements, categorizes tasks (Feature, Bug, or Chore), and drafts technical specifications before executing changes.

2. Modular 4-Phase Loop

Orchestrates Plan, Build, Test, and Review cycles to move tasks from To-Do to Done with minimal human touch.

3. Autonomous Self-Healing Test Loop

Executes the repository test suite, diagnoses failures via LLM reasoning, and iteratively patches code until the entire build turns green.

4. Verification & PR Report

Conducts an automated post-implementation audit to verify that code changes match original issue specifications, compiling an audit summary for review.

Domain-aware AI workflow platform

AI Workflows

Active Project

A proposed internal product that gives Deluxe business domains a central place to discover and run AI workflows. Users would see workflows relevant to their domain, provide required inputs, start a workflow, and observe its progress and telemetry.

Jira intake to usable workflows

Builds on more than 100 AI ideas submitted by domain champions through a Jira intake process.

Domain-aware catalog

Designed for Finance and other Deluxe domains so users can see and run workflows relevant to their work.

Prototype execution flow

The prototype includes a workflow catalog, input modal, execution start, and workflow progress/telemetry view.

FDE-to-engineering path

Smaller workflows may remain FDE-owned; larger solutions can be handed to engineering for enterprise deployment.
